The Surge Protection Device is your last line of protection for photovoltaic systems which has special functions for protecting solar power equipment from hazardous voltage surges. Its maximum PV voltage is 1000V DC and can effectively protect the photovoltaic generator and the inverter. Ethernet Cable Surge Protector uses MOV technology and therefore can handle much energy in voltage surge by taking the surplus voltage to the grounding thus minimizing energy wastage and tripping of the system. With the perfectly designed concept to install on a 35mm DIN rail, Ethernet Surge Suppressionguarantees that your solar power system obtains maximum protection which in turn improves its durability and efficiency.
Surge Protection Device -BT B PVM 1000 RM
The BT B PVM 1000 RM Surge Protection Device has a maximum PV voltage of ≤ 1000V and a short-circuit current of 1kA. Its total discharge current is 40kA, nominal discharge, and voltage protection level is ≤ 4kV, and nominal discharge current is 20kA. This device can best be used on a 35mm DIN rail and will provide an operating performance response from ≤ 25 together with an operating temperature of -40°C to +80°C.BT B PVM 1000 RM Effect
Based on the SPD concept, voltages more than necessary are released to the earth but not to the electrical parts. It assists in reducing the effects of overvoltage and thereby the tendency for power failure; it also optimizes your systems as required. This device guards your solar setup from voltage surges maintaining your apparatus functional for many years at an optimal level of efficiency thus extending its durability. How it works
The SPD works based on absorbing and then discharging the surge voltages safely. Some of them turn on when there is over-voltage which enables the current to flow to the ground. This protection method uses a device like MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) Or GDT that takes the whole of the surge and does not allow it to get to the electrical components. This mechanism offers a way to ensure that your solar power system does not get tainted with high voltages which are detrimental to its well-being.Surge Protection Device Category
- Main Protectors: These are connected at the power distribution board (p.d.b.) or meter cupboard, and provide cover for the total low voltage installation against voltage transposes.
- Branch Protectors: Installed at the end parts of branch circuits or distribution boxes, these protect specific equipment or circuits from voltage spikes.
- Signal Protectors: These protect communication, data, and control circuits to ensure vital electronics are safeguarded from overvoltage.
Installation Tips
- Direct Connection: The SPD should be directly connected to the main power supply point of the building so that no overvoltage can ever reach your devices.
- Grounding Conductor: Ensure that the grounding conductor is properly connected to the interior grounding system for increased effectiveness.
- Enhanced Protection: By connecting the SPD to the power supply and the grounding system, you can protect your solar system and other connected devices from short surges.
- Extended Lifespan: Proper installation improves the durability of your system, reducing the frequency of breakdowns.
